Some of you have expressed interest in having an iron gate made for your
property, or some blacksmith work done. Here is a contact for you of friends
of ours from Valley Center that really do beautiful work. This father/son
team take pride in their quality of work, like you would find in the 'old
country'. If you are looking for a gate, they need to be the first on the
job so they can set the posts to support the gate properly.
They do ornamental iron work, antique reproductions, gates, general
blacksmith and are wheel wrights so can do antique carriage repair. Also,
classes are available from them through the Historical Society. - Bonnie Phelps

Woody and Andrea Zuill have a sign business. They are at their cabin a couple times a month so could supply signs to those in need up on the mountain. In fact, they did lettering for the Fire Department some years back, it was nice for Fire Chief, Karl Bauer to get reacquainted as there is more work to be done and Woody volunteered! - Bonnie Phelps
Here is a list of the type of signs they can do for you:
Small-engine maintenance and repair is now available on Palomar Mountain and for surrounding communities. I can fix anything from a weed wacker to a riding lawn mower, or repair and sharpen your chain saw. I also offer periodic and preventive maintenance and minor to major overhauls of gasoline engines at the present time of up to five horsepower. Very reasonable rates. You may contact me at email davidrake2001@yahoo.com, phone (760) 742-2397. David Drake
I sell Solar Systems through Horizon Industries in Escondido, CA. I was up on the mountain getting measurements to give the Christian Center a bid to Solar heat their pool. I saw Alan Serry at the post office and he requested a bid for a Solar Water heating system for the house he is now building out by you.
I love the mountain and would love to get a cabin built up there someday. I asked my wife for her hand up at the Observatory Camp Ground some 30 years ago. (Has it been that long ago?)
I know that there are a lot of folks that have no power on the grades going up the mountain. I have the tools and knowledge to help them provide their own power. I can work with do-it-yourselfers as well as those that want us to do it all.
If you would like send me a reply email with your snail mail address on it and I'll send you a packet of info. gogosolar@cox.net (George Salter)

Do you have some trees that need to be thinned out, maybe growing a little close to your house, or making it kind of tight maneuvering down your driveway? A San Marcos company has quite an unique offer. We will come to Palomar Mountain and fall trees in exchange for the millable wood. Michael Easterling, East-West Urban Forest Products. See www.eastwestwood.com or phone (760) 458-0749 (Notes from Palomar residents: always be careful to check insurance and liability when engaging outside contractors).
I am one of your neighbors on South Birch Hill (a weekender with a humble, leaky trailer on a muddy lot).
I am also a freelance advertising copywriter, which means I can write your ads, web site, brochures, radio spot, whatever. And with one of my talented designer buddies, I can manage your ads from initial concepts to final production. Hey, it beats paying for the whole ad agency dog-and-pony show. You can check out my work at www.stevenscottsmith.com. Go ahead and pass this URL on to anybody who might need some ads. And their brother, too. And feel free to call if you just need a little advertising advice.
