The Chili Cook Off was so fun! In fact, Fire Chief Karl Bauer announced that it is our First Annual -- so start practicing your chili recipes! Thanks to members of the Chula Vista American Legion who helped Jim and Pat Penrose orchestrate the event. Local judges rated the finished product. The competition was tough with 'seasoned' Chili Cook Off teams that compete professionally! We had no idea whose chili was whose so it was exciting to see that two of our residents earned the Bronze and Silver Awards!

(Drum Roll...)

Third Place went to new mountain residents Tex and Odetta Hudiburgh! Residents Jim and Pat Penrose took Second Place! The First Place went to a San Diego member of the American Legion!

Great bargains were found at the Mountain Treasures Sale! Lots of Raffle Ticket stubs were filled out! You just gotta be there next year!
