Bonnie Phelps reports:
Chris said he has bought raffle tickets for the past twenty years and this is
the first time he has won anything! It will be his second trip to Hawaii. He
was last in Hawaii when he was 18 years old. He spent a few weeks there on
his way to Viet Nam. This time will be very different. However, he won't be
the typical tourist either. He plans to take along a piece of wood and spend
a lot of time carving on the beach. He did promise to wear a Hawaiian shirt
under his best pair of overalls.
Chris has agreed to a photo of him making an appointment at the salon for a
manicure. Priceless. Watch for it with a fun story in the Valley Center
Roadrunner!
Of course, we'll have to have a Bon Voyage party, don't cha think?
Aloha Mountain Friends!
The winner of the Hawaii Trip from the BBQ Raffle this year has quite a fun
story! Chris Marszalek, or Chris the Wood Cutter, first won a manicure. If
you don't know Chris, he is a true Mountain Man complete with overalls and a
George Doane look-alike beard and long hair. There was actually a toss up
between a gift certificate for a haircut or manicure. After encouragement
from the audience, it was decided that the manicure was very much needed and
had a greater possibility to be used.;) What a fun surprise to all to have
Chris win the Hawaii trip as well!
